I have a network consisting of 2 desktops and a laptop. It's connected to Comcast ISP via a wireless Netgear router. Since I added another desktop, this one through an Ethernet connection, I'm unable to get a signal on my laptop. It's weird, but it's like the new desktop somehow blocked it, even though when I removed the new machine, nothing changed. I was told on another forum that I should reset the router settings to default, just in case something's been changed, but I need a password for that and don't have the manual here. Any other ideas?

Did the laptop work OK earlier? No interference form other networks or leeching?
I don't know if adding a new client would automatically alter the router's configuration, but you could be right one that; the default password is usually either "admin", "password", or just blank, try one of those.
As a side note, how are the other two desktops connected? You specified that the new one was via Ethernet, but didn't say anything about
