Hello, all. I have sort of a strange problem, to which (hopefully) the solution isn't embarrassingly easy. What happens is, my "internet gateway" icon disappears regularly from the "network connections" window. I have no idea why this is happening. I've been told I can get it back by resetting the IP addresses (using ipconfig / release and /renew), and this works, but I don't want to have to keep doing that. Any suggestions? My wireless router is Netgear, n case it matters.

I think I've heard someone complaining of this before, though I don't know if it was router related. The easiest thing you could try is flashing the firmware on your router. If that doesn't help, why not just create a shortcut of your own that leads to the start page for your router? That way you wouldn't have to depend on the icon in Network Connections.
