I've been using Windows 2k3 Server to manage my small local network for years now, and it's been working out OK for me until the other day when my laptop suddenly became cut off from the rest of the network for no apparent reason. When I attempt to connect, I am either told that access is simplly denied/transfer cannot be completed, or my machine freezes and has to be restarted. Advice, anyone?

Have you installed any new components to the networking software (or even remotely related applications)? How about updating the said software from Microsoft (or elsewhere)? If an update screwed up your setup, you'll have to re-assign access authorities form the start. Otherwise, you could always try a System Restore if the problem is recent.
