I get a Compaq notebook as a present for my birthday. Everything worked well until I tried to connect to the Internet. I am connecting on wireless Internet and I have wireless NIC in my notebook. However, whenever I tried to connect my Linksys wireless router will not connect. Is my wireless NIC not working with Linksys router?

There are few possible reasons for your problem. I do not think that you have a problem with your Linksys wireless router. You either have some problem with your wireless NIC or level of wireless signal. First, check the drivers for your wireless NIC in your Control panel. Then check the intensity of your signal and if it is low try to move your notebook on some other locations inside the house to see can you get a better signal. Try to call your Internet provider and see doesn't they, maybe, have some temporary problems. They also must have experience so do not hesitate to ask them for help. If nothing of that helps, you will have to ask for some professional help. Wireless connection is as much safe as classic wired connection.
