Wireless Connection, But No Internet

I have purchased bran new DELL Inspirion laptop. I bought a wireless access point, also. I planned to use this wireless access point to connect my laptop to cable modem. I have connected and configured everything but I can not gain access to internet. Wireless connection is working, but no internet. Do you have some ideas about this?

Hello. Are you sure that wireless connection is working? How can you determine that if you can not connect to internet and you do not have another computer in LAN. If I were you I would check if wireless zero configuration is running on your laptop. Click Start - Run and type services.msc. In the services list find wireless zero and start it if it is not running.
