| I think I messed up my computer badly. I was trying to remove some bad drivers, and apparently I deleted something important, because when I try to reboot, the system won't start. I can start in Safe Mode, but I don't know what to do once there, and in it most hardware won't work properly, including audio, video, and the DVD R/W. I have the XP disc, but I can't reinstall or I'll lose crucial data. Any suggestions? |

| Well, you can always do a repair install. Insert your Windows CD, restart, go to BIOS and set the system to boot from the CD. Once the XP install screens are up, you'll be able to choose a "repair installation", which replaces the existing OS, but leaves everything else on the HDD intact. |
