Please, I have just bought a new hard drive, and I connected it with power cord and with data cable, as described in the manual. Now, when I try to boot up the system, there is INSERT BOOTABLE MEDIA TO CONTINUE or something, on the monitor, and nothing happens. Where is my windows? Help! Where did I go wrong?

Greetings. I can see that you now have more than one hard drive inside your computer, right? Lets say that you have two. On the same cable. On IDE1. Thats usually the blue one on the motherboard. Now, there is a order. Which is manually, and physically configurable with the so called jumpers. You can see them between power cord and data cable. They are usually black, so take a closer look. There are three positions. Master, Slave and CS (Cable select). Your old hard drive is I suppose, Master. And your new one too. And thats the problem. You must put the new one to work as SLAVE, or there is a conflict, just as in your case, and the computer doesnt know which one to use, so logically the machine, stops both of them, just because of security reasons. Just swich the place of jumper and the problem is solved. From Master to Slave.
