| I tried updating Windows XP for the first time the other day (auto update was turned off for some reason), and it didn't really work out. It hanged on 0 for quite a while so I left, and when I came back an hour or two later it said: "Windows Update Error. Windows Update has encountered an error and cannot display the requested page. Error no. 0x800C0005". Any thoughts? |

| The error code 0x800C0005 means that the Win Update process could not access the servers. This can be due to one of two things: One, the servers were crowded and could not respond to your update attempt; not likely, but try again later. Two, your firewall or ISP were blocking traffic, presumably temporarily. |
