Hi! I’m trying to set up a small network at my home but I came across a big problem. When I try to access the shared folder on the host computer it keeps asking me for a password. I haven’t been setting no passwords for LAN and I don’t know what the password is. Is this normal? Can I turn this password option off somehow and access the host without it? I’d really appreciate some help with this ASAP.

What you’re experiencing is normal when it comes to LANs. The host can only share what has the sharing option enabled. On enabling the sharing you should be asked to set users and passwords for them. Sharing can be set on every computer in the network. I think that you understand why this is important – you certainly wouldn’t want anyone to be able to see your documents.
