I have several computers in my office and I would like to create a network with them. All computers are running Windows XP Professional with Service Pac 2 installed. Also, they have network cards and I have an internet access from this office. I would like to know how to set up Windows networking for this LAN.

You will first need a router and switch or two, depending of number of computers you will like to connect. When you buy this hardware then you should create a workgroup and add all computers in this workgroup. Set computers to receive IP address and DNS automatically, set DHCP server on router and you are ready to go. Also, you can share some folders and files on computers in network. For this you will have to set permissions for these files and folders.
