Can the Windows 98 se be backed up on cd? I am using this operating system for some time and it is working fine. I am not going to switch it to another OS, like Win 2000 or Win XP. I dont have the need for it. I want to make a backup cd, so I can be assure that I have a working copy if the system crashes.

The Windows 98 SE is very unstable, so it will crash a lot. It is very old and unstable operating system, it is better to install Win 2000 or Win XP. It will help your safety, and the safety of your computer. But, if you dont want to do that, Win 98 SE can make a backup copy of itself. The easiest way is to open the main Windows help, and see there.
