Hi! Well, some people have problem with loading Windows OS some people having trouble shutting it down!! It is 50 chance for you to get the right answer in which group of people I belong. I wont keep you in suspense, second one. I just cant shut down Windows 98 SE that easily or fast! It just hangs, so I have to reboot it! Why is so difficult to log off this thing?

Hello and welcome! It would be nice if you could post what programs you are using. There is a slight chance that something managed to slip by and stayed opened, running in the background messing with your OS shut down., and you are not even aware of it. On the other hand there could be some spam, virus or Trojan intrusion. Do you have the same slow shut down performance after reboot? I wont be going any further with guessing like RAM issue or something like that until you share maybe more info about your system.
