Hello. I am about to configure a file server using Windows Server 2003 operating system. I know that this is a little bit complicated situation, and because of that I need to use some help. Any help. Thanks to all people that are willing to provide at least some assistance. I will appreciate any.
It is a little bit long list of things you need to do, so I will try to tight these as much as I can. On the start menu, select the Configure your server wizard. Choose File Server role. Enable the indexing service. This will provide more performance when more than one user browse the contents at the same time. First, select which folder you have prepared for sharing. Than type the share name. The last thing in basic configuration is to set up which type of User Accounts are going to have permissions to read and write and to manage files on server. You can retrieve other settings and tips online.
