Hi people. I have issues with Win XP startup. I hope it is nothing serious, but I would like to know what is happening and can it lead to some serious problems. The problem is that Windows XP needs almost two minutes to start up. This has not happened over night but it progressively kept slowing down during time. Can this be fixed?

Hello. This not a serious issue with Win XP. You just installed too many programs that are starting up with Windows. There are many such programs like antivirus, antispyware, control center for video card drivers, some aggressive multimedia applications like QuickTime etc. Go to Start – Run and type msconfig. Click Startup tab and disable all applications that are not essential (in fact you can leave only antivirus and antispyware, nothing else is important at start up and can be run later if you need it). You will notice that Windows is starting much faster after this.
