Hello! I’ve bought a brand new SATA hdd for my computer. I’ve had a Maxtor Diamond ATA 80GB by now. So I installed new hdd, it was recognized in bios normally, but when I put Windows XP Professional installation CD, it asked me for floppy with SATA drivers which I didn’t get with my HDD! How can I install windows on this hdd?

Hello there! The problem is that windows XP installation doesn’t have SATA drivers prepared. You need to go to your motherboard manufacturer’s website and download appropriate SATA driver for your chipset. Write it to a floppy and have it ready when windows setup asks for it. Double-check that the floppy is not corrupted.
