I have an old computer with Windows98 Standard Edition operating system. Few days ago I have bought and installed TV card. After that I have noticed that all sounds on my computer are gone. I do not have system sounds, I can not play music and I do not hear any sound while watching movies. System behaves like there is no sound card installed. I hope you will be able to solve this Win98 sound card issue.

TV cards are well known for their ability to mess something up in your computer be it sound or video. Because you ran Windows 98 I think that is highly possible TV card has caused conflict with sound card. Check in system if your sound card or TV card is not functioning because it has a conflict with another device. After that uninstall sound card, open computer case, change PCI slot for TV card or sound card, reset BIOS configuration data and power up computer again. You will be prompted for drivers and now, if you are lucky, Windows will assign correct IRQ number to you hardware and conflict will be resolved.
