| TV cards are well known for their ability to mess something up in your computer be it sound or video. Because you ran Windows 98 I think that is highly possible TV card has caused conflict with sound card. Check in system if your sound card or TV card is not functioning because it has a conflict with another device. After that uninstall sound card, open computer case, change PCI slot for TV card or sound card, reset BIOS configuration data and power up computer again. You will be prompted for drivers and now, if you are lucky, Windows will assign correct IRQ number to you hardware and conflict will be resolved. |
