Hello people. I have a problem with widescreen LCD. I bought Benq 19" FP93GWA monitor and it works fine under Windows XP Professional. However, I can not get it to display 1440x900 resolution on Linux. It always shows 1024x768 and I have a lot of unused black space around picture. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Hello there. Linux has a problem with widescreen LCD monitors. It is really unacceptable that operating system can not display widescreen resolutions these days. You can try to manually edit Xorg.conf file and add monitor resolutions there. Also, do not forget to install propriety drivers for your video card. With little luck you will be able to get resolution you want.
