Hi! I have recently bought Liteon DVD burner to back up some files. And to use it for further burning, of course. Files that I want to burn are extremely important so I want to choose the best media. Which are the best? Traxdata is ok, because I already use it for some movies. I can burn a DVD for 4 minutes with Traxdata. Then, I have heard of those double layer DVDs which are supported by my DVD burner. They are very expensive but they provide better storage. What do you think about that?

Well, TraxData is ok! Only for movies, music, games and all other unimportant things. If you are serious about all this back up, forget about it. What you need is a Verbatim. Its the brand nowadays so there is no better option then it. 4 minutes is ok, but wait a couple of months. Try it then and you wont be able to access them at all. You must have used 16x, right? Friendly advice. If you want your files to last, burn them at 4 x or lower. The slower you burn, the longer they last. With 4x speed your files will be done for about 15 minutes. It all depends on type of the files you want to burn. For large files like movies and large zip archives, time could be even below that level. The worst possibility is if you want to burn mp3s or some 5 KB files. Man, it will take ages, trust me.
