I estimate that my company will experience slight increase so I think that we could start using databases. I thought of Access, of course, because that’s the only db program I know. However I have been told that there are much better programs than Access, and aren’t that expensive. Which db software would you recommend me?

There is nothing wrong with Microsoft Access! Especially it is good for small to mid sized companies! If you have MS Office already installed, then you need not search for more. However, I would recommend some other db programs that you might wanna check out: Filemaker pro and Alpha Five.
