Which graphic card should I purchase?

Hello! I heard that here I could get some advices on computers matter. I am purchasing my first PC and I am trying to make configuration for it. Haven’t waste much time on that problem but lately I have really need for it so I must kind of speed up my search and buy. Some of the components are already kind of chosen but I am still having some kind of dilemma involving the graphic card issue. Do you have any suggestions on what to pay attention during the buy? Will gladly take them into consideration.

Must say graphic card is very important part of every PC, could say vital one. Like every other component graphic card must be compatible with all the other parts of your future PC and in this case must have good motherboard that could handle multitude of tasking and good fast processor specially if you are into playing games. The Prices go from really cheap “floppy price “ones to the price” can buy some cheaper low performance PC” depending on their complexity. What graphic card you will pick depends of the fact for what you are using your PC. For internet surfing you need some very low performance one , but as I said if you are into games then you can buy some latest model that will be out of date in few months even it was paid couple of hundreds of dollars. The top manufacturers in for the graphic cards are Nvidia and ATI, next to them that are also in the can be purchased game are SIS and VIA. ATI is currently the best choice ( Radeon range of cards ), while Nvidia is working on Gforce range, but it is eternal fight of taking turns on the first place all the time.. ATI just started to produce some of cards on its own , but usually they are both just producing the chip sets for the card and actually some other manufacturers building it .For every device to work you need a software drivers to make it recognizable for Windows. For ATI it is Catalyst, For Nvidia is Detonator. Pay attention your motherboard to have AGP (advance graphic port), cause most the graphic cards are made for that kind of plug-in. For any Pc changes consult some expert so you don’t have lately damages on motherboard cause of some voltage changes if the 2 of them aren’t compatible. Which memory you need for good graphic card performance is also important, specially if you are buying a separate one that will be attached to a motherboard by the AGP socket. Pay attention on a matter of DVI ( digital video interface ) so it is recommendable for graphic card to have DVI port just like a monitor, and some of the cards have also apart DVI and a VGA ports. If you don’t understand what is DirectX in cards name means, will explain. That is an application, programming interface that is needed to so the windows, graphic card and sound card drivers work well, in harmony. So for better performance the higher number next to DirectX name is wanted. DirectX is available for download on Microsoft site. You also have some motherboards that already have graphic cards attached to them like MSI which are using Geforce chip so won’t be disappointed with its performance as you might think that cause it is already built you might get. As I mentioned earlier the ones that can be taken in consideration are Xabre series form SIS witch a compatible with DirectX9c (the higher the number the better, remember), and not that expensive if I heard well, if you take the fact that you are getting a high performance one. Before any purchase talk with some one who is great in this business, because you can’t ignore the fact that any new buy must consider with which part you are already having built in your PC. To get the best performance from your PC everything in it must be compatible!
