I am a guitar player and a big music fan. My music folder contains 70 Gb of music. I plan to go on different OS, likeVista, and I wonder what will happen to my music? Will it require format of the whole hard drive? How to be sure that files wont be deleted, due to the different file system? My folder also contains some cubase project files that are very precious for me. By the way, Can I use my Cubase in Vista, although its not an original version? Thanks!

Firstly, Vista doesnt use different file system. It uses the same old FAT32, like Xp, although the version is better. Just make two partitions using partitioning software, like partition magic, and make sure you save your settings. Remember that your music must in a one folder, and your system in another. I f you are still concerned, back up your files on some hard drive, and transfer it later. I am not sure about a Cubase. My Photoshop for example doesnt have licence key, and it works fine. Go to official site of the Cubase owner (I am not sure of its name) and check if its supported. 70 Gb of music? Thats nothing, I know a guy ho has 200 Gb, but of course, he didnt listened 10 of that stuff. I rely on interent storage, so by the 2010 we wont use hard drives. Everything will be online, and secured. So if you loose your precious files, your hosting provider will pay you really huge amount of money.
