I know that Ill ask the most common question regarding Im new in linux: what should I use gnome or kde? I know that you doubtless answer on this all the time. I heard that you are good in this (youve helped my friend to made a decision). Just tell me main differences, nothing more.

Why dont you ask your friend? Never mind. Only what is same between these two desktop environments is that they are desktop environments for linux. Gnome is more common for use and you should use it (as your friend does). KDE is more eye-candy, but not recommended for newbies. You can find more at www.psychocats.net.
