I have a Pentium computer that has a processor at 1.6 gigahertz and 512 MB memory. This was sufficient for our needs for some time and as I am concern it still is, but my kids want more…Problem is with some games that just will not work the way they work somewhere else. Now, I am not about to buy a new PC just because of a few games that don’t run as it should but am ready to make some improvements. What do I need to add to my PC?

I think for the first that you might need a faster graphic adapter. Video card is the most probably cause for bad game performance. This depends of what kind of a game you are trying to run. The most resource demanding games need a classy video card and sufficient memory. 512 MB is not little, but for some games to run fast and smooth you can and more. Consider more memory (256 MB or 512 MB modules) but first check if there is a free slot on your motherboard. You know, some video cards are pretty expensive. Some costs much more than whole your configuration. And, one more thing, the processor that your PC uses is not the top one, too. But since you don’t want to buy a new PC, you better forget this since you might need a new motherboard to change this one.
