This one file I'm trying to open crashes my Mac Word every time. It just starts, looks like it's about to open, then crashes. Same thing happens if it's already running and I try to open. The funny thing is, I moved that file to a machine running Win XP and MS Word, and it opened normally – got the macro warning, but it still opened no problem. What could this be about? It's not really essential I get that document back onto Mac, but It'd be nice. Thanks in advance.

I doubt that a macro is the cause here, otherwise it would probably crash in Win as well. More likely the document has some embedded object that isn't supported on Mac (at least not in Word Mac), maybe an Access DB or something like that. In case the file is really corrupted, you could try to (sort of) work around this by 1) saving it as a Web page, 2) opening the newly saved Web page, and 3) saving it back to its original format - .doc, .rtf, or whatever. That might clear it up a little, see if it works on the Mac after that.
