I'm having trouble getting a pair of computers, one running Win XP and the other Vista, to communicate. They are both connecting to the LAN no problem, and both have internet access, but I can't get file sharing directly between the two to work. Could someone help me troubleshoot this one, please?

First thing, check the firewalls. Eight times out of ten, one or both firewalls don't play nicely and block contact. Try disabling them to see if that's the issue.
Second, make sure the both machines are on the same domain/workgroup. This sounds obvious, but a lot of people miss it.
