Hi! A few days ago I decided I want to update my Windows but I’m not sure how to do that. I think that I should be able to do that manually – download the update and then install it but I don’t know where I should go – I couldn’t find the update section on Microsoft’s site. Where do I go to? :confused:

Well, the way to update Win XP has changed a bit – now you have to validate your version of Win XP first. You should go to update.microsoft.com and if your installation was legal you should have no problems with updating. You’ll be asked first to install some ActiveX controls. After that you’ll be choosing between "custom" and "express" installation and then you'll be asked to "validate" your installation by installing another ActiveX control. When you choose custom install, you’ll be able to do only the updates you want. But if you have the illegal version of Windows, you’ll have to do it some other way.
