| Open your computer and, check did you firmly connect all the cables (signal and power). If that is OK, try to reconnect your WD drive to another SATA connector on your motherboard, if you have any. If that attempt fails, check does your motherboard support your type of SATA hard. Under the type, I mean that your hard drive may be SATA2 and your motherboard may support only SATA1 drives. If that is the problem, then the only thing you could do is to replace your SATA2 drive for some with SATA1 standard. Also, do not forget to check is your motherboard SATA support enabled. That you can check in BIOS. At last, check in your motherboard manual does your motherboard needs some drivers to be installed for SATA support. If nothing of this helps, then I think that your WD HDD may be damaged. |
