Vista crashes after inserting a DVD

It's basically all that happens, right there in the subject line. Almost every time I insert a DVD (or CD, both can be either R or RW there's no real difference) my system just hangs. Not right away, it spins the disc a couple of times, and just as it seems about to start the autorun, it just freezes, dead in the water. Anyone have any idea what's going on?

Hardly, given how little information you've made available. What's your DVD R/W drive's make and model? What version of Vista are you running? What did your .dmp files have to say after restarting?

Without knowing all that, I can only suggest you reinstall the drivers for the device and hope it works.
