It is a real threat. This, as I understood, is up to what e-mail client you use, since there is a hole in MS Outlook Express that is being exploited. The mail itself doesn’t contain the virus body, but only initialize (when opened) computer to connect to particular server and download virus from there. When it’s run, it attempts to disable firewall and antivirus programs, copies itselfe and send to any address it finds. The information I have is that Microsoft has a patch for this OE hole, that was released even before this viruses were issued. So if you are an Outlook Express user, you should download and install this patch to be safe. PS. This kind of viruses is called something like Beagle (with letters like q, r, s,t added).
