I am trying to install PC Linux OS on Windows XP box with help of Virtual PC 2006, but something is not going well. It seems that Virtual PC 2006 does not have support for non Microsoft operating systems. Is there any workaround with this problem or I will have to find some software that can do this?

Virtual PC 2006 (as well all other versions of Virtual PC) does not get along very nicely with Linux operating system. There are few workarounds but they are for Virtual server so I guess you are out of luck with this one. If I were you I would try VMWare server. It can ran all operating systems without any problem.
