Hello, all. My problem is I can't get to a local network via VPN from a laptop running Win XP. Can get only up to "Verifying Username and Password", but no further than that. I have the exact same settings on a server running Win 98, and it connects perfectly. Is this an OS issue, or am I missing something? TIA.

I don't think it's an OS problem actually, since I've had no VPN issues on Win XP Pro at all. Without knowing more about the way you're linked to, I can only speculate, but one thing you should certainly consider are the protocol choices. If you’re using L2TP, just don’t – it's generally a bad idea and often doesn't play ball. Try something else, or if the choice isn't in your hands, contact the ISP and have him change it.
