I have two PCs at home and they’re both running WinXP. I use one for gaming (I’ll call it G from here on) and the other for work (W). I am trying to connect them thru a D-Link 604 router. I have installed VNC on both of them. When I try to connect from W to G it works OK. But I can’t connect the other way. The W PC always crashes and I have to restart it. I’m new to networking and I have no clue on what’s wrong. Any help?

When I had a similar situation I used tight VCN and it helped. If it doesn’t do it for you I think that you should consider reinstalling VNC on the machine that crashes. Some file might have gone bad. I think that VCN has a thorough FAQ so you might try searching trough it for some more info. And one more thing, if you haven’t set your router to open both UDP and TCP access for the addresses you should definitely do it.
