Hey people! I started using Firefox recently and I think it’s really a nice browser. But I encountered a problem with it when I tried to go to a certain site today. I get this message: To use this service, you must enable Sun Java Virtual Machine (JVM) version 1.4.2_03 (1.4.2_05 for Safari) or a later version. I have it already and when I was using Internet Explorer, I had no problem with it. Is this some kind of Firefox bug and can this be fixed somehow?

First try enabling Java and JavaScript – you can do it in the ‘Tools’ dropdown menu you should click ‘option’s and then ‘Web Features’. Then you should just refresh the page, no need to restart Firefox, and it should work. If it doesn’t, it may also be that your firewall is blocking Java. If you’re using Zone Alarm, this can be disabled somewhere under ‘Privacy’ option…I think it’s ‘Mobile Code Control’ tab but I’m not sure. I’ve also read that WinXP SP2’s firewall blocks Java but I’m not sure how that can be fixed.
