I have upgraded processor from Athlon XP 1800+ to Athlon XP 2600+ with Barton core. When I powered up computer I have noticed that processor runs only on 1,533 GHz. I think that BIOS is the problem but I can not find updated BIOS for my motherboard. However, there is updated BIOS for similar motherboard and I am thinking to use it. What is your opinion?

Hello there. Upgrading BIOS with BIOS for another motherboard (does not matter how similar it is) is usually bad idea. If something goes wrong then you will have to buy new motherboard. I can recommend you to search for updated BIOS a little bit more, or to write to motherboard manufacturer and see what they will tell you regarding this trouble.
