Upgrade BIOS on Dell laptop?

I have some problems with my Dell laptop and after hours spent on telephone with Dell support the have told me to upgrade my BIOS. OK. But they forgot to tell me how to do this. I am not a computer expert and I do not know how to upgrade BIOS. Can you tell me in a few words how to do this?

It is not hard, believe me. First you will have to find new version of BIOS. This you can do on Dell web site or on some other web sites that offer, more or less, customized BIOS. Download updated BIOS, save it on floppy disk or CD (depends what image you have downloaded) and then boot computer with that disk. After this just follow instructions and you will be fine.
