Can somebody give me few hints on Unix and Linux systems? I am just a novice, and all that I know is that these two are operative systems and that they are similar in a way. Unix is as I am told a bit older than Linux.I have also heard that Unix can be transformed into Linux environments? What does it mean?

Hey there. First I got to tell you – I am a novice also. All I know is that Unix was a basis for Linux, that it was an open source operative system which developed in many way. Linux was then developed in many different ways and some of them even commercial. I do not know about that environment, gain I have to tell you that I have heard something about GNU environment I think that is used in both. But, in my opinion, you do not have to worry about knowing too much about this stuff - you will probably never need it. Windows is the best, no matter how hard they try.
