| Hi there. I am about to figure out some things about all little files and programs that are really needed for internet browser to operate nicely. But, I just cannot understand their role in a whole story. I am pointing on cookies and ActiveX content. Which ones are really safe, and why do I need them, anyway? I think that they are all dangerous. Does someone wants to illuminate me? Thanks n advance. |

| Hehe. Let me try. Here is the safe cookie example. Gmail. If you want to use gmail, you must have cookie from google on your PC. Why? I think just because they put encrypted passport in it. Something like library member card ID. You cannot rent a book if you are not a member of that particular library. And what about active content? These are usualy macros, or small programs, portable programs written in Javascript. They are often used to represent some advertising pop-up. No big deal. Internet market. But, if you are on some adult porno web site, and your browser asks you to enable active X content on that page, hmmmm, better dont..... I hope this was helpful. |
