Unable to view files on PCs in network

Me and my two friends are trying to set up a network between our using an ethernet cord. One of my friends has a DVD burner and I wanted to use it to burn some files from my Computer. We turned on file sharing on all PCs and turned off the firewall for the local area connection too. I copied the dvd file to the shared documents file. But I cannot see these files on other PC nor can I burn them to DVD. What have I done wrong?

Don’t worry, this can be solved easily. You should open ‘My Network Places’. There on the right you can see an option called ‘view all workgroup computers’. When you click it and it should give you the icons for all the computers in your network. When you open each of them, they will show you all the shared files, folders, devices, drives, and so on. And you’ll be able to use the DVD to burn the files you want.
