For some reason, I can't seem to renew the IP address on my home network (SpeedTouch gateway), neither directly in the config not through the "repair connection" opption in XP.
So far I have tried both manually resetting the address (/ipconfig release, renew, yada yada), and the connectivity troubleshooting on the Microsoft support site, but neither ofthese two worked. Any more ideas? |

Two, off the top of my head:
First, as long as it's Windows XP, you might as well try editing the registry to fix Winsock corruption first. See here - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811259/#XSLTH5187121123120121120120
And second, I've had trouble with SpeedTouch hardware before, and minor issues like this could usually be remedied by resetting the router manually. |
