Unable to install scanner

Hello! I am Jim and I have a problem. I have bought new scanner and I am not able to install it. My friend told me that everything would be installed regard the fact I am running Windows XP Professional operating system with SP2 installed. But, nothing is installed. Please, tell me what I need to do to install scanner.

Hello, Jim! You will need to use installation disc which came with your scanner. Your Windows XP probably have drivers for your scanner (I cannot tell you this for sure, because you did not tell me which scanner you bought), but you will need to install software for it if you want to use it.
