I downloaded the file from the Internet with some payment instructions. The file was in Word (DOC) format. I have Microsoft Office installed on my computer for a long time and it is working fine. However, when I try to open downloaded file I get an error message. I was unable to access that word doc file. Can anybody help me?

There are several reasons that could cause problem like yours. First, it could be an error in the process of downloading and your file is damaged. You could try to download it one more time and than try to open it again. Second, you might not have a proper version of Microsoft Word installed on your computer. Your version could be older then the version of Word in which the downloaded file was created. In that case, you have to install a newer version of Microsoft Office. Third reason for your problem could be that the creator of your file was using some special add-ons or features that are not standard parts of Microsoft Word. If that is your problem, you need to find out what are those features, download and install them.
