USB memory stick and Mac OSX not working

Hi there. I have Windows XP computer and Mac with OSX Jaguar. I have bought USB stick in order to transfer some files between these two computers. On USB stick it is stated that it can be used with Windows XP and Mac OS 8.6 and above. IT works well with Windows XP but it is not working under OS X. I can not read any data saved from Windows XP. Do you have any suggestion regarding this?

Hello. This is a strange problem. As far as I know, Mac OS X can handle FAT16 and FAT32 formatted volumes without any problem. So, it should read USB memory stick without any problems. To be sure about some things you should do the following. Open teriminal.app and write following command:”diskutil info”. Now, drag and drop here USB memory stick icon. Post result here and we will be able to figure something out.
