I need large capacity USB flash drive. Preferably larger then 8Gb. I want to connect it to satellite receiver and download movies on it. I know this USB flash drives are quite expensive but what bothers me more is possibility that such large capacity USB flash drives might need additional power supply. Can they be connected to PC and receiver as common smaller USB flashes or will I need stronger PSU or external power supply.

No, they do not need additional power supply. In fact, I own 16GB USB flash drive and it happily works on standard DC 4.5V 5.5V from USB port. So do not worry. And they are not that expensive any more. Their price range is around 60 EUR so it is not to much if you really need it. Besides that I have not heard for USB flash drive that needs additional power supply. They are designed to be portable and carrying around cables is not very portable solution.
