I want to create a wireless network and before that I have to be informed about all the measures of precaution. I’ll try to set it up and adjust it according to the rules, but I don’t know what to do about the range. I don’t know how to tweak it and whether there are certain things I should take care about. What are the basic things when it comes to tweaking range of a wireless network?

I still think that you should be meddling with the networking on your own. It’s too complicated and what if you do something wrong? It’s better to pay someone to do it properly and without any risk. The most important thing is to put your access point or router somewhere where no interference with other home appliances and devices can occur. Be careful to keep it at least 1 or 3 meters away from the microwave oven. Other devices that you should keep away form the access point are cordless phones operating on high frequencies, openers for garage doors and similar. Anther source of interference can be the structure of your walls, because if they’re too thick, the signal can be bad.
