Hi! I’m trying to build a computer for the first time. I thought I had gathered everything that I need but it turned out I forgot to get the IO shield - I was following a manual instructions but they failed to mention it. I was wondering if it was possible to run a computer without it?

Did you try powering it up? It should work ok without it. The I/O shield keeps excess dust from entering the case and it also acts as an earth point for the components like microphone, monitor, keyboard and such. But it isn’t necessary. Still I think you should have got it with either motherboard or the case…I got one with both.
