When Toshiba Satellite is powered on I can not see anything on the screen. In fact, I can see some picture but only when I look closely and this picture is very dark. I have not done anything unusual with this laptop. It just started to act like this by its own. Do you know what the problem is and how to fix it?

It looks like backlight lamp on your screen is dead. You can try to replace it by your own (it is not hard thing to do) but you will need technical manual from Toshiba. You can download it from their official web site. The real problem here is that backlight lamps are very expensive. Their prices are around 200 and 300 USD.
