My Toshiba was overheating, so I took it apart to clean it up, following the advice I found online (several websites, actually, for consistency) I took off the CPU and heat sink, cleared the dust and everything, put it all back together, and … nothing happens! Blank screen! Is it possible I somehow fucked it up, and how do I check if this is the case? Could it be something I can repair myself, or have I done enough already? TIA,

Anything's possible. You could've bent or broken some pins while taking off the CPU. Did you unlock it first, or just pried it off? In either case, check the pins to see if some are bent, and if so, try straightening them. (If some are broken, I guess you'll find out soon enough.) One more thing to check is a faulty DC power connection, very common on Toshibas; you could've jarred it out of place so doesn't work from the adapter and the battery doesn't charge.
