I have a problem with my Soundblaster. I cannot use it for recording. When I select enable recording button system reports that drivers are not installed. How to solve this problem? And I also get this found new hardware message. Its already installed. By the way, winamp works fine, and media player also. In the hardware device manager it looks like its being disabled. How come?

Those are the typical problems with XP. Service pack 2 solves this mystery but in meantime lets see what we can do. Go to control panel and select audio and video devices. Select audio feature in advanced tab. There you will see is your driver enabled in audio recorder. If not, try to enable it by updating driver information. Go to hardware tab and see what is going on there. Is everything fine, no errors or grey tabs? Go back to control panel and select system-hardware option. If you see a yellow error mark, something is still wrong. Enter the device manager and check the soundcard. See if driver is enabled. If not, try to update it, but previously insert your sound card CD. If that fails too, you will have to reinstall your system, sorry! But I am sure youll work it out! Cheers!
