I've got three computers in the home office, all running Win XP Pro, and all having to use a single printer. I don't want to have to fiddle with the connections each time someone prints, so I was thinking about networking them. What would I need, both hardware- and software-wise?
(I don't really need them to share the DSL connection I've got, though, in case it matters.) |

It doesn't, really, because the easiest way to network your office would be to just get a cheap router. In better hardware shops, they'll offer to set it all up for you, and sell you any software you might need – odds are you don't really need anything else other than what you've already got, but what the hey. BTW, in case it's an old printer, you should first make sure it's network-ready before trying anything.
