The other day I finally went ahead and installed Vista… and now I wish I hadn't. Since then, the surround sound doesn't seem to work at all, no sound is coming from the back two speakers for some reason. A few days ago everything was working perfectly, so it has to be the OS update… but I've got the same drivers, fresh ones, saved in a folder on the HD, and they're not helping! What do I do now?

What do you mean "the same drivers"? You know, I presume, that you can't use the same version of the drivers (for any piece of hardware) on different operative systems? Go to the manufacturer's website and find the Vista drivers for your sound system. If you've done that already, try and reconfigure the audio engine in the sound control panel.
